If you’re booking a photoshoot in Texas, here’s something important to know. Texas has a sales tax, and depending on the city or county, the total rate can vary.
Starting October 1, 2025, the sales tax in certain areas will increase from 6.25% to as high as 8.25%. This applies to physical products like prints, photo albums, and framed photos, as well as some photography services.
What this means for you
- If you’re ordering prints or booking a session after October 1, your total may include a slightly higher tax.
- The exact rate depends on the location where the service or product is provided.
Why I share this
We want to be transparent so there are no surprises on your invoice. This change is set by the state and local governments, and we just want you to be aware.
💡 Tip: If you’re planning a session or ordering prints soon, you might want to book before October 1 to lock in the current rate!
